For us at The Hut Retreat it means:
• peace, as long as you choose to keep it
• fruits eaten directly from the tree (of course, when season is proper and they are ripe)
• mountains and hills in the immediate vicinity
• country roads as far as your eyes can see for: walking, cycling, hiking (of course, with prior route checks and appropriate equipment)
• the smell of old wood and the reminders of grandparents’ house (or the Village Museum for those who grew up in the city)
• evenings by the fire (in our case, indoor fireplace or the fireplace in the orchard)
• sauna for 8 people
• steaming outdoor jacuzzi (must have with a glass of Prosecco)
• outdoor barbecue and dining area along with silent music
• children’s playground (we are working on it)
All in a concept where we combined traditional with modern amenities and where we believe you don’t need anything else either. Apart from the food, of course, which we invite you to prepare individually in the kitchen fully equipped with state-of-the-art appliances and traditional old furniture.
Or, if you want to be served with food, you have Sibiel at 3km, Orlat at 6km, Sibiu at 19km and even Paltinis at 27km to try out local dishes. A walk and a siesta do suit diversity. Anyhow, you’ll hardly wait to return to our “accommodation” and to our peace.
At The Hut Retreat we have a TV to share in the “seating” area (living room in modern language). In the bedrooms, we invite you to spend time reading or chatting with your loved ones. In addition to the living room, kitchen, dining room, museum, we have 4 bedrooms (2 with private bathroom, 2 with a shared bathroom) and a hybrid room: we call it “the relaxation room” where everyone can retreat to read, do yoga, stretching or other pleasures or where you can even put to sleep your surprise friend, on the sofa bed.
If you also want what we created, we are waiting for you.
And, because we care about the quality of our lives and our descendant’s, because returning to our origins, circularity and natural resources are important to us, you should know this:
• all pieces of furniture were collected through “treasure hunts” and received a new life with careful restoration and painting via our skilled craftsmen
• heating, lighting and rest of the functions are ensured strictly by electrical energy next to our air/water heat pump and for the future we have prepared the premises to install photovoltaic panels
• the traditional barn, former shelter for animals, is today transformed into living space and restored at the level of the structure. The original wooden walls and beams, the reduced height of the spaces as well as the restored pieces presented in a small museum, are our pride.
